Stephanie Chernishov
Stephanie is passionate about intercultural and all age-churches and children's work. She has volunteered for Girls' Rally and holiday programmes over the years, and ran a multicultutal playgroup. Trained in plant science, community development and theology, she is currently employed in administration for her church - Discovery Christian Centre of Fairfield Presbyterian Parish in Hamilton, New Zealand. Almost helf of the people in the area are Maori, around 40 % are Pakeha (European), and the remainder Pasifika, Asian and other groups.
Stephanie is involved in Kai Gathering (Kai = Food in Te Reo Maori, the indigenous language), a weekly all age event, where they are exploring ways to introduce Jesus to people from the surrounding community. She coordinates a small children's ministry 'Discovery Kids' on Sundays, is on the Board of Te Puna Waira/Desert Spring Community Centre, and is learning Te Reo Maori.
Mick and Stephanie have two teenage sons and a younger daughter.
