Helen Bell United Kingdom
My name is Helen and I live in East Anglia, United Kingdom, with my husband and three teenage children. Growing up, I did not feel like I fitted in and, as a young teen, my Christian faith was important for me to know that I belong in Christ.
After my Psychology degree, I lived in a L'Arche community. This was a formative time as I experienced what it meant to be-with others in mutual relationships. Since then, my curiosity to help people find connection, security and belonging has been central to my life story.
Since January 2026, I have been working for the United Reformed Church supporting churches with their mission and ministry for children and families. Prior to this, I worked in a range of health and social care settings, churches, and the charity sector, using my initial training as a clinical psychologist alongside families. I am passionate about changing the ways families and communities relate, so that traumas are transformed rather than passed on the next generation.
I love to encourage people to share their stories with the help of ideas from Circle of Security Parenting (a programme based on attachment theory) and I am a mentor and trainer for OutoftheBox storytelling.
